Challenge the Oath
A legal requirement to swear an oath of allegiance to the Queen is discriminatory and unjust. By forcing people to take oaths they do not truly believe we devalue and undermine their importance. We believe there should be a choice of oath for republicans. This is a political and legal challenge to make that choice a reality.
Daniel Land

I'm 43 years old and have spent all of my life in the UK apart from a few weeks abroad. My mother is British and my father born in Southern Ireland became a British National and served 25 years in the Royal Air Force. My siblings are all British. However, I was born just a few weeks before my parents returned from Singapore, where my father had been posted by the RAF. As a result I don't qualify for a British passport and have to travel on an Irish passport.

I am English by any reasonable definition. However, I do find the whole concept of Royalty repugnant and anti-democratic. As a result I am unable to become a British citizen and have to remain as a foreigner in my own country.
